In Plain English
The ternary operator `condition ? expr1 : expr2` returns one of two values. Combined with `&&`, `||`, and `//`, Perl delivers expressive conditional assignment.
Deep Dive: How It Works
Ternary Syntax: `$result = $test ? "Pass" : "Fail";`.
Logical OR Default (||): Returns the first truthy value.
Defined-OR Default (//): Returns the first defined value (handles 0 correctly).
Low Precedence (and, or): Often used for control flow chaining: `do_task() or die "Failed";`.
Core Rules to Remember

Ternary Expression: Inline value selection based on a condition.

High vs Low Precedence: `&&` / `||` bind tightly for math; `and` / `or` bind loosely for control flow.

Micro Exercise
Determine Access Tier
Declare `my $points = 1500;`
Use a ternary operator to set `my $tier = ($points > 1000) ? "VIP" : "Standard";`
Print `"Tier: $tier\n"`.
